This fully online course teaches professionals how to plan, create, and evaluate integrated marketing communications strategies across every major channel and format. You will develop a thorough understanding of how consumer behavior, customer journeys, and cultural branding work together to shape effective marketing communications, including advertising, digital media, promotions, press releases, packaging, signage, and corporate communications.
Over 9 modules, you will explore the full scope of integrated marketing communications, from consumer psychology and social influence to customer journey mapping, paid and earned media strategy, cultural symbolism, persuasive messaging, and brand storytelling. Each module builds practical, job-ready skills that apply directly to real marketing and communications work. The course concludes with a team-based applied project in which you will reposition a real brand, define its target market, develop a marketing communications strategy, and produce sample marketing communications.
No prior marketing knowledge is required. This course is open to working professionals, marketing specialists, brand managers, communications professionals, business owners, and career changers at all experience levels.
A score of 80% or higher is required to pass each module quiz, each hands-on challenge, and the final certification exam. All assessments may be retaken an unlimited number of times. Pass the final exam to earn your Digital Badge of Completion from Arizona Online Professional Studies.
Learners who pass the final exam may apply for University of Arizona academic credit through the credit-by-exam process. Must be a University of Arizona student to be eligible.
Cancellations: The office of Arizona Online Professional Studies reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to low enrollment. If a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to low enrollment, you will be notified at least one week prior to class start date and given the option of a full refund or, in some cases, transferring to a different class.
